Cookie Policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026.

What Cookies Are

A cookie is a small piece of data a website asks your browser to store and send back on later requests. Cookies can remember a login, keep a cart, measure visits, or follow advertising. Similar technologies include local storage, which also stays on your device but is not automatically attached to every request the way a cookie is.

This policy uses those words carefully. Golden Hands should not be described as “using cookies” for a feature that actually uses local storage, and it should not be described as cookie-free if a host later adds a cookie the pages do not mention. The sections below separate what the site’s own script does from what a hosting company might do outside that script.

Cookies Actually Used

The pages and script shipped with this website do not create an HTTP cookie. The appointment script does not call a session function and does not set a Set-Cookie header in its own code. There is no login cookie, no shopping cookie, and no cookie that remembers your name.

What the script does use is one local storage item. The key is golden_hands_notice_ok. After you press “Got it” on the notice, the value “1” is saved in that browser for this site. On a later visit, the script sees the key and does not show the notice. If the key is absent, the notice can appear.

That item is not sent to the appointment file. Submitting the form does not read it. Clearing it does not delete a request you already stored on the server.

Essential Cookies

Some laws treat storage that is strictly needed to provide a service you asked for, or to remember a choice about storage itself, differently from optional tracking. The notice flag is there so the same explanation is not forced on you after you have acknowledged it. It is not required in order to read the pages. You can use the site without pressing “Got it,” and the pages still load.

The site does not set an essential session cookie for security or load balancing in its own code. If the published host adds a technical cookie of that kind, it is not listed here by name, because no such cookie has been confirmed in the project files. A host-level cookie should be added to this policy when it is actually observed, rather than guessed.

Functional Cookies

The notice preference is the functional storage this website uses. It remembers a display choice. It does not remember massage preferences, dates, or form drafts. The form does not save a half-finished message in the browser. If you leave the contact page before a successful response, what you typed is not kept by the script.

There is no language switcher, no region selector, and no preference center that stores extra settings. Adding those would require this policy to name them.

Analytics Cookies

The website does not load Google Analytics or another analytics product. It does not set analytics cookies, and it does not send page views to a measurement vendor from the page script. Visit counts, bounce rates, and audience reports are not produced by this project.

If analytics were added later, they would be optional where the law requires a choice, they would be described in this policy before they run, and they would not be bundled into the current “Got it” button. That button only hides the notice. It is not consent to measurement.

Advertising Cookies

The website does not load advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or conversion tags. It does not use Google Ads tags, a Meta pixel, or a similar tool in the pages as published. “Got it” is not consent to advertising, because no advertising technology is waiting to start.

Seeing this website in an advertisement somewhere else, if that ever happens, is separate from cookies on these pages. This policy covers what Golden Hands pages store. It does not describe the cookies of an ad platform that is not embedded here.

Third-Party Technologies

Pages do not embed YouTube, maps, social feeds, chat widgets, or payment buttons. The contact page links to an external map search. It does not place the map on this site. Fonts are files on this website, not a request to a font service in the current styles. Images are files on this website. Those choices mean a normal page view is not designed to contact an advertising or analytics company.

A hosting provider may still log IP addresses and request times as part of serving the files. That logging is described in the privacy policy as technical data. It is not the same as an analytics cookie, and the provider is not named because it has not been published. This policy will not invent a vendor list.

Cookie Choices

The notice has one button, “Got it,” and a link to this policy. The button writes the local storage key and hides the notice. It does not turn on a second category of storage. There is no “Reject” button and no “Preferences” panel, because those controls would imply optional cookies that do not exist. A reject button that did the same thing as “Got it,” or a preferences panel with disabled switches, would look like a choice you do not actually have.

If you do not press the button, the script does not write the key on that visit. The notice can show again. Reading pages and submitting the appointment form do not depend on the key. The form’s own checkbox is about understanding that a request is not a booking. It is not a cookie choice.

You can remove the key yourself. In most browsers, site settings for this website include a control for cookies and site data, or for local storage. Removing site data deletes the notice flag. It does not delete a request already stored on the server. The next visit can show the notice again.

Browser Settings

Browsers let you block cookies, block third-party cookies, or clear storage when you close the window. Because this site’s script uses local storage rather than a cookie, a “block cookies” setting may not by itself stop the notice flag. Look for site data or local storage in the same settings area. Private or incognito windows often discard storage when the window closes, so the notice can return each session.

Blocking JavaScript stops the notice script, the mobile menu script, the FAQ accordion, and the form’s fetch handler. The form is still marked to post to the script, but the usual status message depends on JavaScript. If you browse with scripts disabled, do not assume a request succeeded unless you have another confirmation, and this site does not provide another confirmation channel.

Browser vendors move these controls. The names in a settings menu can change. This policy does not try to reproduce every browser’s current click-path, because that path would go out of date. The durable point is that the only Golden Hands flag is a local storage key you can clear with the browser’s site-data tools.

Retention Where Known

The notice flag does not have an expiry date in the script. It stays until you clear it, until you remove the site’s data, or until the browser drops storage for another reason of its own. Golden Hands does not set a ninety-day or one-year cookie lifetime, because it is not setting that cookie.

Server logs, if the host keeps them, have whatever period the host uses. That period is not published here and should not be guessed. Appointment requests are covered by the privacy policy, which also refuses to invent a retention number that the operator has not set.

Policy Updates

This policy will be updated if the website starts using cookies, analytics, advertising tags, or a real preference center. The date at the top will change with the text. A new tracking tool should not be added in silence, and it should not be switched on by the existing “Got it” button. If a choice becomes necessary, the buttons on the notice should perform the choices they name.

Until that happens, the accurate description is the one on this page: one local storage flag, no analytics cookies, and no advertising cookies in the site’s own pages.
